The International Department of the Happy Childhood Foundation was established in 1994. Yearly, we carry out about 30 projects within the frames of the Polish-German Youth Cooperation, the Youth in Action Programme, the Visegrad Fund and the Polish-Lithuanian Youth Exchange Fund. The projects encompass among others: trainings, youth programmes, the European voluntary service and meetings of the representatives of organizations active in the same field.

The youth programmes focus on such areas as: sport, history, tradition and culture, music, art or literature. The youth meetings organized by the Foundation usually take place at the educational centre in Motycz Leśny. This is where the youth from different countries meet, share their experience, learn from one another, undertake various initiatives and present their cultures.

Some projects are run abroad, e.g. in Germany, France, Hungary, Romania, Turkey or the Ukraine. Last but not least, we contribute to the development of the European voluntary service through hosting volunteers from other countries and providing them with an opportunity to gain new experience and take their first steps in the world of voluntary work.

“We really hope that it won’t be one time. Our plan is to create big international society of Fantasy & RPG fans in next 2 years. Thanks to “Youth In Action” Programme it’s really possible. We are waiting for you in Poland, this is our first big step in our great dream”.

We are a group of English language class students that includes 13 high school students from Turkey, aged 15 to 18. We are interested in discovering foreign cultures and meeting new people from other countries. Our main aim is to transform any prejudices between participant countries into mutual tolerance.

By the project we want to bring youth of different backgrounds together, and teach to respect and value cultural variety by maintaining international dialogue. Young participants will have an opportunity to learn more about history of other countries, as well as to discover foreign traditions and customs. The project will also promote active citizenship among young newcomers to European countries, and nurture mutual respect and understanding between young people from all nations.

“We think it will be most interesting for the groups to meet and get to know each other - all coming from very different countries, with different background, different culture, different food, climate and many other things. We want to talk and learn about what we have in common and what we do not. We are all humans, alike in many ways, but also very different in many others. We should learn to respect and understand each other to make this world a better place.”
